Personnel development at SPK
Qualified, future-proof, motivated – The personnel development program at the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation aims to empower employees, departments, and teams to perform their duties efficiently and sustainably and to tackle new challenges with motivation and flexibility.
We view human resources development as systematically designed processes aimed at identifying, maintaining, and further developing the performance and learning potential of our employees. It supports the achievement of the Foundation’s goals by empowering, promoting, and protecting its employees.
Through targeted measures such as training, continuing education, and leadership development, the SPK addresses the shortage of skilled workers and develops programs to retain talented employees in the long term. The SPK views its employees as a central resource that brings the Foundation’s cultural universe to life. The more qualified the staff is, the greater the benefit for the Foundation and for each individual.
Employee Training
The SPK strives to balance the foundation’s needs and requirements with the interests of its employees. Performance reviews between employees and managers play a central role in this process. They make it possible to identify potential and implement targeted development measures. In a trusting dialogue, managers and employees can reflect on their collaboration, discuss future goals, and identify development needs. Development measures are agreed upon jointly to provide employees with the best possible support.
Leadership and Employee Training
The SPK Executive Training Program aims to foster a foundation-wide understanding of modern leadership practices, emphasizing respectful communication and collaborative partnerships “on equal footing.” The training aims to comprehensively prepare managers for their roles by empowering them to develop their leadership skills, apply theoretical knowledge in practice, learn effective communication techniques, constructively resolve conflicts, and confidently apply legal principles, thereby ensuring competent and sustainable leadership.
Similar to the leadership training, the SPK offers the SPK Employee Training to staff members without personnel management responsibilities. This training strengthens participants’ communication and conflict management skills, enabling them to confidently handle challenging conversations and resolve conflicts constructively. At the same time, they learn to better achieve their goals through optimized time and self-management.
The training also provides participants with opportunities for foundation-wide networking.
Coaching
Coaching is a targeted, individualized staff development initiative at the SPK that is generally available to all employees. Coaching is voluntary and confidential, and is designed to be goal-oriented while remaining open-ended. It offers support in taking on new leadership or project management responsibilities, managing complex change processes, resolving personal conflicts in the workplace, and identifying sources of stress.
Continuing Education Counseling
To provide optimal support for the professional and personal development of its employees, the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz offers counseling services provided by its Human Resources Development team. Central and regional training coordinators assist in identifying individual training needs and finding suitable training opportunities.
Advanced Training/Promotions
The Foundation supports particularly motivated and high-performing employees with tailored career development initiatives, such as cost-sharing, leave of absence, and development agreements.
Employees who earn advanced degrees may apply for relevant job openings at the Foundation.
Health Management
The Foundation’s health management program aims to maintain and improve the health of its employees. It includes active occupational health and safety measures, a workplace integration management program (BEM), and health promotion initiatives.
E-Learning
Employees have access to a variety of e-learning modules. These flexible learning opportunities allow employees to continue their professional development at any time and from any location, and, in particular, to stay up to date on the important topic of acting in compliance with the law in the public sector.
