Career Training for the upper grade of the civil service in archives

Are you interested in Prussian history and its historical records? If you have a high school diploma, you can complete a career training program for the senior archival service at the Prussian State Archives.

The training program for the senior archival service lasts three years. It consists of a three-month course of study at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Mayen, followed by 15 months of practical training and 18 months of theoretical training at the Secret State Archives of the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz. The theoretical portion of the training takes place at the Marburg School of Archival Studies. Current job openings for the senior archival service can be found on the Job Openings portal.

For college graduates, the Secret State Archives of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation offers the opportunity to complete a two-year internship to prepare for the senior archival service.
