Jahrbuch Preussischer Kulturbesitz

The Preussischer Kulturbesitz yearbook reports extensively and continuously on the Foundation's work. It records important events, takes a look at subjects relevant to the Foundation, and provides information about major topics of interest in the five institutions.

In the Preussischer Kulturbesitz yearbook, the President looks back and reports on the previous year at the Foundation. In addition, the yearbook provides a detailed record of openings and re-openings of buildings, the construction of the Humboldt Forum, outstanding new acquisitions, restitutions, and personnel changes, as well as scholarly projects, conferences and seminars. Staff of the Foundation and external scholars report on their research. In addition, strategic internal matters concerning many of the institutions within the Foundation are presented, such as approaches to handling cultural property, provenance research, and digitization. The Foundation's construction activities are also regularly covered in the yearbook.

The Preussischer Kulturbesitz yearbook has been published since 1962. It is edited by the President in the name of the Foundation Board. Special issues have also been published at irregular intervals. They have included a volume on the occasion of the sixtieth birthday of the former general director of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Stephan Waetzoldt; a study on the evacuation and return of the collections from 1939 to 1959; a volume for the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Foundation and an anthology of essays from a Gemäldegalerie symposium on Dutch painting.

In 2005 an index of the first forty volumes of the Preussischer Kulturbesitz yearbook was published. It includes author and thematic indexes.
