2025 Budget
The budget of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation is divided into an operating budget and a capital budget. The budget for 2025 provides for total expenditure of around 418.4 million euros.
At the end of each year, the Foundation Board approves the budget of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation for the following year. The budget is then approved as part of the federal budget. The Foundation’s overall budget is divided into an operating budget and a capital budget. The operating budget comprises staff costs and expenditure on equipment and materials. The contributions from the federal government and the Länder towards the Foundation’s funding are set out in accordance with the 1996 agreement.
The budget for 2025 provides for total expenditure of around 418.4 million euros. A budget of around 275.3 million euros is earmarked for the 2025 operating budget, including expected own revenue and third-party funding. On the revenue side, there are federal allocations totalling around 196.4 million euros, contributions from the other federal states totalling around 20 million euros, and around 38.6 million euros from the State of Berlin.
In 2025, expenditure totalling around 143.1 million euros is earmarked for construction projects. Of this, around 138.7 million euros is allocated to new construction projects funded by the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning, and around 4.4 million euros to the Bauhaus budget. Since 2003, the federal government has borne the entire cost of construction for the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
