Federal budget strengthens SPK
Press release from 09/11/2024
Parzinger: Federal Government significantly strengthens the SPK - thanks to Claudia Roth
The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation will be significantly strengthened in the 2025 federal budget. SPK President Hermann Parzinger thanked Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth and her organisation: "This is a strong signal in difficult times. Our reform process, which has clearly picked up speed, will benefit from this above all. In the past, we have had to announce bitter cuts such as the reduction of opening hours and the partial introduction of an additional closing day. If the budget is now approved, we will be able to reopen our centres as usual at the beginning of 2025. This is also a good sign for Berlin as a city of culture and for our millions of visitors. I would like to thank BKM from the bottom of my heart for supporting the modernisation of Germany's largest cultural institution."
