Hermann Parzinger on Neil MacGregor as future Director of the Humboldt Forum Founding Directorate
Press release from 04/08/2015
The President of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, Hermann Parzinger, comments on the decision to appoint Neil MacGregor as the founding director of the Humboldt Forum:
"I am delighted with this decision. He is the ideal person for this task. His inspiring way of imparting knowledge and his worldwide network will give the Humboldt Forum the necessary radiance. I am sure that Neil MacGregor will be able to pool the expertise of the institutions represented here and that he will have a moderating and integrating effect. Above all, however, he will also develop the big picture for this institution. With this decision, the signs are set for success. I am also very much looking forward to working with Horst Bredekamp in the founding directorship. Together we will lay the foundations for a successful operation and an ambitious programme.
The decision by Monika Grütters, Minister of State for Culture and the Media, guarantees the outstanding role of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation at the Humboldt Forum. With the high-calibre collections of its State Museums, it forms the backbone of the Humboldt Forum."
