A new, specially designed lighting system will be installed in the Gemäldegalerie by autumn 2023. After the first construction phase was completed and reopened on time, parts of the Gemäldegalerie will be closed again in the coming months for the second construction phase.
The second construction phase includes the area of 17th century Dutch painting and 17th and 18th century English, French, Italian and Spanish painting (Halls X–XIV, Galleries 16–26). These sections will be inaccessible from 19…
