Creative minds open up new perspectives: the first issue of ‘Luise’ has been published
News from 10/09/2026
“Luise”, the new magazine from the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, invites readers on an artistic journey through its museums, archives and libraries. The first issue is devoted to taking a break, pausing for a moment and contemplation. The magazine is free of charge and is published in German and English.

Artists such as Katharina Sieverding, Raphaela Vogel and Mavie Hörbiger, writers such as Leif Randt, Eckhart Nickel and Senthuran Varatharajah, and other creative professionals explore the SPK’s collections from different perspectives. Their contributions lead, for example, to the portraits in the Gemäldegalerie or to the Aleppo Room in the Pergamon Museum. Photographer Christian Werner has dedicated a photo essay to the quiet corners of the foundation. Florian Illies explores the legacy of the magazine’s namesake, Queen Luise.
“Time for reflection has become a luxury these days,” says SPK President Marion Ackermann. “I am delighted that, with ‘Luise’, we can offer visitors a journey through our institutions that is as poetic as it is informative.”
‘Luise’ was conceived by Holger Liebs and Timo Feldhaus. The first issue was designed by the Swiss graphic designer Gian Gisiger. The magazine was made possible by the Board of Trustees of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
‘Luise’ is published twice a year and will be available from mid-October in numerous museums and institutions run by the SPK. It can be ordered free of charge at presse(at)spk-berlin(dot)de.
