The Pergamon Museum, located on Berlin’s Museum Island – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – will reopen its doors to the public on 4 June 2027. This means the Pergamon Altar will finally be on public display once again. In addition, the main level will feature further galleries housing architectural exhibits such as the Mschatta façade. The Museum of Islamic Art will present its completely redesigned permanent exhibition throughout the north wing of the building. The Museum of the Ancient Near East will display highlights from its collection.

“The wait is over!” declares Marion Ackermann, President of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. “We are all eagerly awaiting the opening of the Pergamon Museum and look forward to welcoming the first visitors on 4 June 2027 – and, together with them, rediscovering a place that has shaped generations.”

Over the coming months, the galleries of the Collection of Classical Antiquities, the Museum of Islamic Art and the Museum of the Ancient Near East will be further fitted out. In addition, the ticket offices and cloakrooms, as well as other visitor facilities, are being prepared. The museum shop and educational areas will also be located on the ground floor.

The reopening of the Pergamon Museum is part of the five-year celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of Museum Island Berlin.
