The winners of the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition 2025 in the violin and piano trio categories

The Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition 2025 ended with a spectacular final concert at the Konzerthaus Berlin on Sunday evening.
This year, the competition was held in the violin and piano trio categories. In the final round of the solo category and the final prizewinners' concert, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin performed under the direction of Simon Gaudenz. This year's prizewinners are:

First prize (Mendelssohn Prize, EUR 6,000)

The commissioned work "Reflections sur Versailles for violin solo" was composed by Aziza Sadikova.

The competition is organised by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, the Rectors' Conference of German Music Universities and the Berlin University of the Arts. The artistic director is Ulf Werner, orchestra director of the Konzerthaus Berlin. The patron of the competition is Andris Nelsons, Gewandhauskapellmeister of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. This year's jury chairs were Franziska Hölscher (violin) and Wolf Harden (piano trio).
