Press release from 11/23/2023

SPK and ZDF extend media partnership until the end of 2024

The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SPK) is continuing its successful media partnership with ZDF. ZDF Programme Director Nadine Bilke and SPK President Hermann Parzinger today signed the extension of the cooperation until the end of 2024.

ZDF Programme Director Nadine Bilke: "Art and culture for everyone: together with the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, we are giving a broad audience access to art and cultural treasures outside the museum - in traditional reporting as well as in interactive discovery tours such as 'The Secret of the Pictures'. We are also delighted to accompany the current renovation and new building projects in our programme. After more than 20 years of collaboration, we are continuing our media partnership with new ideas and forms of presentation."

Foundation President Hermann Parzinger explains: "Having such a long-standing and stable partner as ZDF is exceptional. The annual 45-minute documentaries now form a chronicle of the Foundation's activities at a high level in terms of film and content. "

As part of the media partnership, ZDF and 3sat have been accompanying the work of the SPK for more than 20 years. Long-standing focal points are the renovation and further development of the Museum Island Berlin and the themes of the Humboldt Forum. In the last 45-minute documentary, Frank Vorpahl focussed on questions of restitution from colonial contexts.
