New website for the State Institute for Music Research: fresher, more user-friendly, more up-to-date
Press release from 02/10/2021
New layout, new structure, new content - the website of the State Institute for Music Research www.simpk.de has been completely relaunched.
The new website of the State Institute for Music Research has been online for a few days now. With its completely revised structure and new design, it is much clearer. The homepage offers important information for visitors to the museum and the institute's library at a glance. Dates and news also provide an up-to-date introduction to the museum's activities and the Institute's main areas of research. All this is complemented by significantly improved search options.
Hermann Parzinger, President of the SPK, says: "The new website gives the State Institute for Music Research a fresh new look - you suddenly have the feeling that you are rediscovering it. I would like to thank the Kuratorium Preußischer Kulturbesitz for financing the relaunch."
Thorsten Strauß, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, emphasises: "The Prussian Cultural Heritage Board of Trustees has always been concerned with promoting the SPK's digital projects. In these times, it is more important than ever as a cultural and academic institution to provide up-to-date online offerings. In this respect, we are very pleased to be able to make a contribution as a board of trustees!"
Thomas Ertelt, Director of the State Institute for Music Research, is delighted: "The Institute's research activities and academic services are now directly accessible and offer surprising discoveries for every music lover. And the new #MiM for home section also offers direct access to our YouTube channel with short presentations of the museum's instruments and numerous sound samples."
The design and features of the website are based on the SPK website, just like the website of the Secret State Archives PK, which was launched in May 2020. Thanks to its responsive design, the new website can also be used on mobile devices. The relaunch of the website was prepared by the State Institute for Music Research together with the SPK Head Office, implemented by the agency Graphodata and financed by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Board of Trustees.
