The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation is getting a new Vice President. Gero Dimter succeeds Günther Schauerte, who has held the post since 2011 and is now retiring. This was decided by the Foundation Council, chaired by Minister of State for Culture Monika Grütters.
Gero Dimter, born in Dresden in 1976, studied law in Dresden and completed his legal clerkship in Berlin, where he passed his second state examination in 2003. He then worked as a lawyer before becoming a judge in Berlin in 2004. After holding positions at the regional court and various district courts, among others, he was an advisor for justice and consumer protection in the Berlin office in Brussels from 2010 to 2012. Since 2013, Dimter has been a member of a civil senate at the Berlin Court of Appeal, initially on secondment. Since April 2014, he has also headed the Administrative Department V in the Presidential Administration of the Court of Appeal, which is responsible for the material budget, the library and the Central Salary and Remuneration Office of the Berlin judiciary, among other things.
The Chairwoman of the Foundation Council, Minister of State for Culture Monika Grütters, explains: "In Gero Dimter, the Foundation has gained an experienced lawyer and administrative expert as Vice President. I am certain that, with his competence and expertise, he will position the Foundation well for the challenges of the future alongside the President, tackle the necessary modernisation and also successfully manage the complex legal matters. As a leader with a wealth of experience, Gero Dimter will certainly be able to further develop the SPK in close cooperation with Hermann Parzinger, not least with regard to the challenges of digitalisation."
Hermann Parzinger, President of the SPK: "Gero Dimter has excellent qualifications for the office of Vice President. I am delighted that we have found a highly competent professional in him."
Gero Dimter: "I would like to thank you for the trust you have placed in me. I am very much looking forward to the task. Together with everyone involved, I would like to help preserve, develop and keep alive the outstanding cultural heritage entrusted to the SPK."
