Parzinger: Using the European Year of Cultural Heritage for a new start
Press release from 01/08/2018
The European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 in Germany opens today in Hamburg City Hall
Europe's shared cultural heritage will take centre stage in 2018 under the motto "Sharing Heritage". The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation is inviting European partner organisations to a summit meeting in June.
Hermann Parzinger, President of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, is an ambassador for the Year of Cultural Heritage: "When the French President talks about reinventing Europe, our shared cultural history is the most important driving force behind this. We are convinced that our heritage is of enormous importance for a European identity and allows us to stand together even in difficult times."
As one of the highlights of the Year of Cultural Heritage, the SPK is organising the European Cultural Heritage Summit together with Europa Nostra and the German National Committee for Monument Protection under the motto "Sharing Heritage - Sharing Values" from 18 to 24 June 2018 in Berlin. Registration for the summit opens in February.
