"museum4punkt0": Joint virtual space with kosmosdigital Humboldt Forum sub-project

Press release from 05/08/2017

"museum4punkt0 - Digital Strategies for the Museum of the Future" starts today. Humboldt Forum Kultur GmbH is involved with the sub-project "kosmosdigital Humboldt Forum".

Humboldt Forum Kultur GmbH was founded in 2016 to prepare the cultural operations of the Humboldt Forum on behalf of the Humboldt Forum Foundation in the Berlin Palace. This also includes the further development of the overarching media concept for all participating institutions that will be represented in the Humboldt Forum from 2019: The Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art of the National Museums in Berlin, the Stadtmuseum Berlin and the Humboldt University Berlin.

The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation is one of the world's most important cultural institutions and a major player in the humanities and social sciences. It includes museums, libraries, archives and research institutes. The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation is responsible for the development and operation of a joint interactive platform for "museum4punkt0". The platform will present the new developments created within the network as well as existing digital content from the project partners. The platform also provides interfaces for service offerings and services.

The "kosmosdigital Humboldt Forum" sub-project of Humboldt Forum Kultur GmbH, which aims to digitally visualise interdisciplinary contexts, has been specially designed for the joint virtual platform. By bringing together nature and culture as well as art and science, the Humboldt Forum will encourage visitors to explore the world in all its diversity. Its digital version is designed to make the highlights accessible in an intelligent and playful way. Users should be encouraged to visit the Humboldt Forum and at the same time become actors in a digital cosmos themselves. To this end, an experimental presentation format is to be developed based on the findings of the other sub-projects. Also: new ways of addressing specific target groups and individualised and inclusive mediation offers.
