Website for new museum building at the Kulturforum online: www.nationalgalerie20.de

Press release from 08/10/2016

The new website for the new museum building at the Kulturforum has been online since today. It provides information about the contents of the future museum and the competition procedure for the new building. It also presents the Kulturforum as a place of culture and science. The website will accompany the planning and construction process of the new museum building until its opening.

The new museum at the Kulturforum will create ideal spaces for art. The new building will also be a meeting place. For the Kulturforum, it can become a centre where different facets of European art, ideas and cultural history converge and cross-connections become visible. In autumn and winter 2015, an open ideas competition was held for the new museum building and its urban integration, in which around 460 teams of architects and landscape architects took part. Ten of the prizewinners qualified to take part in the realisation competition, which is currently underway. In addition to the winners of the ideas competition, 13 other architectural firms were invited to take part in the realisation competition. Furthermore, 19 teams of architects and landscape architects qualified for the realisation competition via a global competition. The field of participants for the final round of the competition has thus been finalised since June 2016. The jury meeting will take place at the end of October.

The website was designed and realised by the cosmoblonde agency based on a layout by ART+COM. It will soon also be available in English.

Addition 11.08.2016: With the domain name www.nationalgalerie20.de for the new website for the new building at the Kulturforum, no decision has yet been made as to what the building will be called in future.
