"Notturno" - Chamber concert on 10 January at Hamburger Bahnhof. DSO ensemble plays works from Vivaldi to Berio at the Museum für Gegenwart
Press release from 01/02/2014
To kick off 2014, the chamber concert series "Notturno", which the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin has been organising in cooperation with the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation since 2010, invites you to the Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart - Berlin on 10 January. Like all of the season's nocturnal chamber concerts, this performance by a DSO ensemble surrounded by contemporary art has been sold out for months.
Prof Dr Eugen Blume, Director of the Nationalgalerie at Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart - Berlin, will welcome visitors at 9 pm and invite them to take part in guided tours of the special exhibition "The end of the 20th century. It gets even better". At 10 pm, the concert begins with DSO members Gergely Bodoky and Adele Bitter as well as Yeree Suh and Petteri Pitko. Fully committed to the tradition of the orchestra, the ensemble will present 20th and 21st century works by Luciano Berio and juxtapose them with compositions by Clérambault, Ibert and Vivaldi.
The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin are rewarded for their interdisciplinary courage, which is reflected in the "Notturno" chamber concert series. High-quality chamber music combined with guided tours of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (National Museums in Berlin) is in tune with the times. All concerts of the season were sold out well in advance.
