At the start of the celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of Museum Island Berlin, the mobility provider Flix and SPK joined forces to enable even more people to enjoy culture and publicise the island's anniversary. This co-operation is now being extended. Ten FlixBuses will continue to be on the road as "cultural ambassadors on wheels". With special Museum Island branding such as Nefertiti, Canova's Dancer or Manet's Winter Garden, they will draw attention to the anniversary on various routes from locations in Germany and neighbouring countries to Berlin.

In 2026, the Museum Island will once again shine in Flix green. As in the previous year, the Kolonnaden Bar, which has established itself as a lively meeting place and programmatic anchor, will be at the centre of the activities. In addition to this, selected larger and smaller events and exhibition openings will be organised to further strengthen the cultural diversity on site. Flix plans to realise interactive elements and audience-oriented experience formats at the events.

Marion Ackermann, President of the SPK, explains: "The branded buses from FLIX are real eye-catchers and open up new opportunities for us to get people excited about the diversity of Museum Island Berlin and its cultural highlights. At the same time, Flix is also supporting the Museum Island financially, which is a strong signal in these times. The commitment also emphasises the economic importance of the cultural sector."

Flix customers benefit from a range of advantages: A contingent of free museum tickets and special giveaways have been reserved for them. Flix and SPK will also organise joint events on Berlin's Museum Island.

In 2026, the Alte Nationalgalerie will be the focus of the island's anniversary: it was officially opened 150 years ago as the third museum on the Spree Island. On Sunday, 22 March 2026, it will begin its anniversary year with a birthday party with an extensive programme and the opening of the cabinet exhibition "Scandal! Mors Imperator - Hermione von Preuschen".
