Privacy Policy
The Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Heritage Foundation, abbreviated as SPK) places great importance on protecting your data and safeguarding your privacy. To ensure that you are fully informed about the collection, processing, and use of personal data in the context of application procedures at SPK, please read the following information.

The SPK has a data protection officer who can be contacted at the above postal address with the addition "Data Protection Officer" or by e-mail: Datenschutzbeauftragte@spk-berlin.de.
2. Data collected by third parties
During the selection process, personal data may be processed by third parties if necessary. This includes information on your health suitability for public service, which is determined by a company or official medical examination. Any relevant entries in your police clearance certificate will also be checked and, if necessary, your personnel files from previous employers will be reviewed.
3. Purpose of processing
During the selection and recruitment process, we process your personal application data to the extent necessary to assess your suitability, qualifications, and professional performance with regard to the position you are applying for (see Art. 33 (2) GG). Additional legal requirements for the selection process arise in particular from the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), the Social Security Code (SGB) and budgetary law.
4. Legal basis
The collection of personal data for the purpose of establishing an employment relationship is carried out for employees, trainee lawyers, and trainees on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR, § 26 (1) BDSG, for civil servants in accordance with § 106 (4) BBG, and for applications in the area of salaried employment in corresponding application.
5. Categories of recipients
The recipients of the data – to the extent necessary – are the organizational units within the SPK that are responsible for processing the application and recruitment process. In addition to the relevant HR managers, these include the staff council, the representative for severely disabled applicants, and the equal opportunities officer.
The SPK uses the electronic application management software of Bite GmbH as software as a service in the cloud hosted by Bite GmbH within Germany. The SPK has carefully selected Bite GmbH. It is bound by the instructions of the SPK and is regularly monitored.
6. Storage period
If an employment relationship is not established, we will only store your data if we have your written consent or if this is necessary to defend ourselves against possible legal claims in legal proceedings. Otherwise, we will delete your application documents no later than six months after you have been notified of our decision.
If you are hired, your data may be further processed in your personnel file. You will be informed of this separately.
7. Your Rights as a Data Subject
You have the right to access your personal data. You also have the right to rectification, deletion, or restriction of your data, the right to object to its processing, and the right to data portability.
Furthermore, you have the right to file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data by SPK. The Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI) is responsible for SPK.
