Save the Date: Day in the Green at the Kulturforum Berlin
Press release from 07/29/2025
On 14 September 2025, the Kulturforum Berlin will once again be transformed into a large event space - both indoors and outdoors. For the fourth time, the cultural and scientific institutions based there, as well as the church, are inviting the public to a festival for young and old, this year under the motto "Paradise".
A wide range of events in all the houses at the Kulturforum invite you to come together, look, listen, try out, join in and celebrate. The programme starts at 12 noon: In addition to guided tours for children (aged 6 and over) and adults, there are numerous family activities and drop-in workshops with artistic and musical offerings. Concerts will take place both on the VeloStage mobile stage at the Philharmonie and at the Ibero-American Institute.
The museums at the Kulturforum can be visited on the Day in the Green with the Kulturforum ticket valid for all museums at a special price of 12 euros (instead of 20 euros), concessions 6 euros. Holders of an annual ticket can bring one person with them free of charge. As usual, children and young people up to the age of 18 are admitted free of charge.
Joint highlights in the open air: Berlin's longest table in the green invites you to relax under the trees of the "Baumschule Kulturforum" from 12 noon to 7 pm. If you don't bring your own picnic, you can get food from the neighbouring food trucks on Scharounplatz. At 5 p.m., all visitors are invited to send a message of peace to the world with bells they have brought themselves. The participatory performance "Bells for Peace" will take place as part of the exhibition "YOKO ONO: DREAM TOGETHER" at the Neue Nationalgalerie.
The day can be realised with the support of the LOTTO Foundation Berlin.

Members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the Karajan Academy will perform several half-hour concerts on the VeloStage mobile stage. During singing workshops, visitors are invited to make the foyer of the Chamber Music Hall resound.
A wide range of guided tours on topics such as "Heaven and Hell", "Paradise Lost" and "Paradise on Earth" will entice visitors to the Picture Gallery, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Museum of Prints and Drawings and the Art Library. In the afternoon, drop-in workshops allow visitors to work with pastels and charcoal under the guidance of artists or design their own paradise. In addition to guided tours, the Neue Nationalgalerie also offers various drop-in workshops where visitors can draw, build and design.
The Musical Instrument Museum of the State Institute for Music Research invites you to experience music with all your senses - simply heavenly! As part of an architectural tour, you can get to know the entire building right up to the roof terrace. The Ibero-American Institute is also all about music: a fusion of Latin American folk, jazz and chamber music sounds in the afternoon is followed in the early evening by the "Tropicália Lounge" with Brazilian sounds from bossa nova to tropicalismo on vinyl.
In St Matthew's Church, there will be dancing on the Paradise Carpet, and in the evening there will be an open-air church service with General Superintendent Julia Helmke and Pastor Hannes Langbein.
At the Kulturforum tree nursery, the good life will be discussed and enchanted paradises will be created. At the Social Science Research Centre Berlin, sociologist Eva Illouz talks to theologian Simon Kuntze about emojis and likes - and what is at stake in the profit spiral in social media.
