Press release from 12/14/2020
Restoration of an architectural icon: the covers have come off Mies van der Rohe's Neue Nationalgalerie - keys handed over on 29 April and reopening in August 2021
The completely renovated upper hall of the Neue Nationalgalerie with its crystalline shape is once again visible. Hermann Parzinger, President of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation: "This is a wonderful sight at the end of what has not been an easy year - a decisive stage has been reached. I look forward to being able to present the completely renovated building, designed by David Chipperfield Architects, to the public next year. The keys will be handed over on 29 April 2021, followed by open days. And in August, we will reopen the Neue Nationalgalerie with an exhibition of works by Alexander Calder."
