Hermann Parzinger on the decision of the public procurement chamber

Press release from 09/11/2009

The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation considers the confusion surrounding the competition decision in favour of Franco Stella's design for the reconstruction of the Berlin Palace to be very regrettable.

The collaboration with the architect to date has been extremely constructive and harmonious. Stella understands the concerns and requirements of the users and has implemented them in an outstanding manner in a short space of time during the further development of his design. Should the decision of the awarding chamber lead to a delay in the planning process, this would be very disappointing for everyone involved.

Hermann Parzinger, President of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, says: "We will continue our intensive work on the conceptual and structural realisation of the Humboldt Forum with all our strength and are certain that all legal issues can be resolved swiftly by the judge of the competition procedure."
