In the 2020 Humboldt Ranking, published recently, the SPK has achieved second place in the humanities and social sciences
The SPK enjoys a good reputation as a research institution among international visiting scholars. This is confirmed in the 2020 Humboldt Ranking, published by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. It ranks the SPK second among non-university institutions in the category of humanities and social sciences. In the 2017 Humboldt Ranking, the SPK took third place in the same category.
The 2020 Humboldt Ranking is based on assessments of the research residencies of scholars who received grant funding from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation between 2015 and 2019. A leading position in the Humboldt Ranking is regarded as an important indicator of the global reputation of research institutions in Germany.
