Thorsten Strauß to continue as Chairman of the Board of the SPK

Association of leading German private-sector companies to help the SPK modernize, improve efficiency, and raise its profile

Thorsten Strauß, the Deutsche Bank AG representative on the Board of the Stiftung Preussischer Kulturbesitz and the managing director of Thor Advisors GmbH, will continue to head the Board of Trustees for another year. He has been unanimously confirmed as its chairman and has previously sat on the former Museum Island Board. His deputy will be Dr. Helen Müller, Head of Cultural Affairs and Corporate History at Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA. She succeeds Anne Reidt, the head of culture at ZDF. The Board includes company representatives of Bayer AG, Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA, Daimler AG, Deutsche Bank AG, Linde, KPMG AG, SAP SE, Siemens AG, and Würth-Gruppe, as well as the state broadcaster ZDF.

Thorsten Strauß remarked: “The SPK is the most important cultural player in Germany. Difficult times lie ahead for it as a result of the Corona crisis. However, the companies represented on the SPK Board are determined to stand by it at this time. We need a healthy cultural and artistic landscape now and in the future."
