New Head of Department: Organization, Budget and Financial Services, and Internal Services

The Department of Organization, Budget and Financial Services at the Central Administration of the SPK is getting a new head. Dirk Ueckert will take up the position on July 1, 2020.
Born in 1971 in Schleswig-Holstein, he has a wide range of knowledge and experience in the areas of work concerned. Ueckert is currently in charge of the financial accounting department of the Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS), where he is also responsible for the budget. Ueckert studied economics at the University of Hamburg and in 1997 gained a post-graduate European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE). He then worked in various local government authorities of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg until 2004, initially in the business authority's department of logistics (cooperation between ports in the Baltic region, transport management, EU projects). At the end of 2000, he became head of the department of property policy and basic questions of real estate/facilities management at the Hamburg tax office. He was then seconded to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, where he worked in the BOS Digital Radio department for three years.
Ueckert has been at BDBOS since 2008. He initially worked there in finance and accounting and headed the project group for purchasing. In 2014, he took over as head of finance and accounting. At the head of a team of twenty employees, he is responsible for all the BDBOS's commercial accounting as well as the preparation and auditing of the annual financial statements. Since 2019, he has also been responsible, as the budget officer, for the preparation of the economic plan, the financial flows to the federal and state governments that jointly finance the BDBOS, and the economic evaluation of plans and projects.
Responding to Dirk Ueckert's confirmation by the Board of the Foundation, Hermann Parzinger said: “I am delighted that in Dirk Ueckert we have found not only a highly qualified new head of the budget and organizational department of the SPK, but also someone who has shown that he can lead teams successfully. I wish his predecessor Kai Schlegel all the best in his new post as the head of administration at the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation and I look forward to working with him on matters pertaining to both foundations.”
