The central administration handles matters concerning the Foundation as a whole and is the central provider of services for the Foundation’s institutions. This section provides contact information for a selection of personnel in the central administration.

Department of the President

The Department of the President handles key questions and scientific topics associated with the President. The Foundation's central in-house Legal Office and the Protocol and Special Events Office are also part of this department. more

Protocol and Special Events

The SPK receives guests from all over the world. Queries about visits by senior representatives from embassies, ministries, federal or regional authorities, and major national or foreign cultural bodies are handled by the Protocol Office in the Department of the President. Its staff coordinate numerous social and scholarly events involving the Foundation’s institutions. more

Human Resources Department

The Human Resources Department is the contact person for all personnel issues at the SPK. Its spectrum of tasks includes personnel planning, hiring and development, employee care, and advising management. more

Budget, Financial Services, Donations, Exhibitions, and Externally Funded Projects

This department is responsible for the Foundation’s budgeting and accounting. It coordinates fundraising across the SPK’s institutions as well as externally funded projects and the corresponding grant applications. more

IT, Organization, and Internal Services

The Organization Unit ensures that resources are used efficiently and takes care of the IT infrastructure. The Internal Services Unit manages occupational safety and health as well as the implementation of internal rules. It is also responsible for facility and material management. more

Construction

The Foundation’s construction projects are managed from within the central administration. The unit’s personnel are responsible for the financial planning and work in close cooperation with the Bundesamt für Bauwesen und Raumordnung (Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning). more

Media and Communications Department

The Media and Communications Department is in charge of the President's Public Relations and Media activities. The department supervises Online Communications, bears the editorial responsibility for important publications and attends to topics concerning all of the foundation's individual institutions and related to cultural policy. more

Office of the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek

This office represents the competence network of the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek and supports its work. It has been located at the Stiftung since 2011. more

Representation of Interest Groups

The interests of the Foundation’s employees are represented by the human resources counselors. The SPK also has commissioners for employees with special needs, for equal treatment and for data privacy and the prevention of corruption. more

If you do not know your contact person at the Foundation, please ask the reception. External suppliers and service providers are asked to contact the facility manager in advance to make arrangements to gain access to the building. more
