The collaboration of the Stiftung Preussischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation) with other scientific institutions has as its primary goals studying its own holdings and preserving them for the long term. Its cooperation with cultural institutions is intended to encourage broader, international dissemination of knowledge about its extensive collections.

The central cross-institutional cooperative projects of the Foundation are controlled by its president. The specialized cooperative projects are coordinated by the responsible museums, libraries, and archives.

Cooperation with Russian Cultural and Scientific Institutions

One special focus for historcial reasons was collaboration with Russian cultural and scientific institutions. The Foundation has given impetus to various initiatives and has been participating in them. It has also taken responsibility or acted as a spokesperson for German institutions involved in cooperation with Russia. The Deutsch-Russischer Museumsdialog (German-Russian Museum Dialogue), Deutsch-Russischer Bibliotheksdialog (German-Russian Library Dialogue), and the Arbeitsgruppe Kultur (Working Group on Culture) of the Petersburger Dialog (Petersburg Dialogue) foster contacts between professionals and initiate and implement numerous projects in the areas of culture and research. Since the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine, the cooperations are on hold.
