Volontariat

“Volontariat” positions are offered at the Staatliche Museen, the Institut für Musikforschung, and in the Press and Public Relations Office of the President. All of them require a university degree and in some cases a PhD.

A “Volontariat” is a special traineeship for a period of two years. Compensation is in accordance with the Tarifvertrag des öffentlichen Dienstes (Wage agreement for civil service employees). All positions are published in the Open Positions portal. Each job listing includes details of the areas of activity and the requirements for the job.

There are around 30 positions at the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (National Museums in Berlin) for this type of training. In addition to positions with a focus on art history, there is also training offered in conservation.

The Staatliches Institut für Musikforschung (State Institute for Music Research) regularly lists a position for a “Volontariat”.

The Foundation’s Central Administration offers a “Volontariat” in the Press and Public Relations Office every two or three years.
