New release: In “Twelve Paintings“, Tal Sterngast explores the contemporary relevance of the Old Masters - Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz

In her book Twelve Paintings: Excursions in the Gemäldegalerie of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin – released 7 December 2020 through Hatje Cantz-Verlag – the author Tal Sterngast takes a closer look at selected works from the collection in her own, refreshing and subjective way. Sterngast analyses masterpieces by Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Vermeer through the lens of contemporary social and art-criticism discourses, revealing that the Old Masters still have a great deal to say to us today.
